Earlier today, Google announced the availability of a complimentary one-year subscription to Google One AI Premium for university students within the United States. This initiative grants access to a substantial 2TB of storage on Google Drive, alongside a suite of Google’s artificial intelligence tools, notably the Gemini 2.5 AI model, Deep Research, and NotebookLM Plus functionalities.
To avail oneself of this offer, applicants are required to register using a valid email address ending with the “.edu” domain and must complete the sign-up process before June 30th of the current year. Prior to the expiration of the complimentary subscription in 2026, registrants will receive advance notification via email, affording them the opportunity to either continue their subscription at the standard rate or discontinue the service.
Presently, this offer is exclusively available to students residing within the United States, and Google has not yet indicated any immediate plans to extend this initiative to university students in other regions.
In addition to Google, other artificial intelligence enterprises, including OpenAI and Anthropic, have also introduced comparable complimentary programs for university students. These differ primarily in the duration of free access and, in some instances, a nominal monthly subscription fee of one dollar.
Currently, the Google One AI Premium subscription is offered at a monthly rate of $26.99, with a promotional initial month available at no cost to each account.
